TOP PICKS OF 2022 BY HYPED.SPACE

Many new and retro sneakers hit the market this year. To give you another look at what came out this year, we made a list of what we think are the top picks of 2022!

  1. NIKE X CACTUS JACK AIR JORDAN 1 LOW “REVERSE MOCHA”

The third Jordan 1 Low to be tackled by Travis Scott’s record label Cactus Jack is the Reverse Mocha. The name says it all: it is very similar to the original Mocha from 2019, but with the colors exactly reversed. According to many sneakerheads, this is the best colorway of the Cactus Jack Jordan 1 series and that is also reflected in the resell prices. The sneaker now has a value of approximately € 1100.

  1. NIKE AIR JORDAN 1 HIGH “LOST & FOUND”

After 7 years of waiting, the Jordan 1 High “Chicago” came out in retro style again! This time, Nike took the retro style very literally. By using special ink on the leather, small cracks appear in the top layer. With this they created “cracked leather”. By applying this in different places, in combination with the off-white outsole and the retro details on the shoe box, the sneaker should look like it has been dusting away in a warehouse since 1985.

  1. NIKE SB X CONCEPTS “ORANGE LOBSTER”

The chance of catching a real orange lobster (chance 1 in 30 million) seemed higher than the chance of buying the Orange Lobster sneaker. Besides the Cactus Jack Jordan 1, it is one of the best sneakers released this year. Nike has worked with Concepts before. From that collaboration came several SB Dunks (Lobsters) and an Air Max 1 pack. The Orange Lobster is easy to recognize by its bright orange color with, if you look closely, dark spots through it. Also, the band, which is normally used to keep the claws of a lobster together, around the toebox of the shoe is very characteristic of a Nike SB Dunk Lobster.

  1. NIKE X UNION DUNK LOW “PASSPORT PACK”

In the spring this great pack from Nike came out in collaboration with Union LA. Inspired by the 3 different cities where Union is located, namely: Los Angeles, New York City and Tokyo. The uppers are made of ripstop and when you cut them away, the bright colors of the sneakers come out even better!

5. NIKE X LOUIS VUITTON AIR FORCE 1 LOW

More than half a year after the death of Virgil Abloh, this great collaboration between luxury brand Louis Vuitton and Nike came on the market with a great sneaker. Why? Virgil Abloh, former Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton, had close ties with Nike through previous collaborations with the sports brand. A total of 47 colourways were made, 9 of which were for sale in Louis Vuitton stores. The rest was made available through auction. The retail price for these 9 Air Forces was €2500, but the current resell price is between €3000 and €10,000.
